PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 IS A TEAM EFFORT. WE’RE IN THIS FIGHT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY…TOGETHER!

    HARRISBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT'S MASK POLICY:

As of March 16, 2022, masks are encouraged but not required in the Harrisburg School District.  This change applies to all of our schools, buildings and school buses.  We will closely monitor case counts, and if there are any significant increases in positivity rates, or if Dauphon County COVID -19 cases increase to a MODERATE level for two consecutive weeks, the District will once again require masks to be worn.

Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy in-person learning environment for our students.  We will use the following mitigation strategies.

    1.  Students and staff that test positive for COVID 19 or are in close contact with a positive case and are experiencing symptoms will still be required to isolate for 5 days.  They may return on the 5th day if they have not had a fever in 24 hours, their symptoms are improving and they are able to wear a mask consistently while in a HBGSD building for 5 additional days.

    2.  We ask that all students and staff stay home if they are sick.

    3.  We ask that all students continue to practice good hand hygiene and hand washing.

Due to decreasing cases in Dauphin county, the Harrisburg School District will no longer be doing contact tracing or requiring quarantine for potential exposure.  Individuals who are a close contact with a positive case but are not experiencing symptoms will not be excluded from school or school activities.

    • Harrisburg School District 2021-2022 Mask Policy: Masks are required in all Harrisburg School District schools and the administration building. Cloth masks and face shields are NOT permitted during times of high transmission. The District requires, and if needed, will provide students, staff, and visitors with a disposable 3-ply thick mask. Click here to read the updated (1/18/2022) Health and Safety Plan and masking guidelines.

Please review the COVID-19 Dashboard Tracking System for daily updates on our schools and other helpful information. The District will continue to keep our families, staff, and school community abreast of circumstances based on available information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In addition, we will continue our commitment to mitigate risks associated with the spread of COVID-19 to help keep our students and staff as safe as possible. For questions, please contact your school office. Thank you.

It's important that everyone takes precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please stay informed. See information and resource links below.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, parents/guardians should complete the Student Screening Survey on a daily basis (and when returning to school from a holiday weekend or holiday break) prior to your child getting on the school bus or entering any Harrisburg School District school or the Lincoln Administration Building.
